About Paolo Petrocelli

Paolo Petrocelli (PhD) is a senior cultural manager and university professor driven by the belief that culture, arts and education are a major force for growth, development and change globally.

A former Board Member of the Rome Opera House, he is the Head of Dubai Opera House in the United Arab Emirates. 

As a cultural and music diplomacy ambassador, he serves in institutional roles to forge bonds through music and arts in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and the US.

He is the Founder and President of EMMA for Peace (Euro-Mediterranean Music Academy), international non-governmental organization for the promotion of music diplomacy between Europe and the Middle East, Co-Founder and Honorary President of the Italian Youth Association for UNESCO, the largest youth organization in the UNESCO system, Cultural and Music Diplomacy Officer of the Permanent Secretariat of the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates and Cultural Advisor to Coldplay

Petrocelli holds a PhD in Cultural Economics, Marketing and Creativity from the IULM University of Milan, an Executive MBA from SDA Bocconi School of Management of Milan, a Diploma in Violin Performance (MA) from the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia of Rome, a BA in Literature, Music and Entertainment from La Sapienza University of Rome, a BA (Hons) Music from Middlesex University of London. He has been a Visiting Fellow at Yale University and a Visiting Researcher at MIT Media Lab.  

Currently, he is a Research Affiliate at metaLAB (at) Harvard and a Lecturer at LUISS Business School, John Cabot University, Accademia Teatro alla Scala, European School of Economics, Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI).
